John Pazdziora is a poet, scholar, and literary critic. His poetry and fiction has been published in journals including Scheherazade’s Bequest and美. Song cycles and choral works with his lyrics have been premiered by various artists, notably Chorosynthesis and Raha Mirzadegan, with music by Eric M. Pazdziora. He co-authored the historical picturebook Smout and the Lighthouse (2023) with Jane Yolen. His academic research focuses on the Scottish nineteenth century and the interplay between religion and literature. He is the author of Haunted Childhoods in George MacDonald (Brill, 2020) and the editor of Christianity in Scottish Literature (Scottish Literature International, 2023). He currently serves as associate professor in the Department of English at Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo.
